Join the discussion helping shape the future of funding for bi+ movements.
What does it mean if something is specific to the bi+ community? Like art or porn, do we “know it when we see it?”
As part of our mission to build the capacity of bi+ movements to improve the visibility, health, and well-being of bi+ communities, Visibility Impact Fund (VIF) wants to fund bi+ specific work and organizations. We need your help figuring out how to describe what “Bi+ Specific” means for both funders and those asking us for grants.
VIF has done a lot in its first year and there have been surprises and discoveries along the way. We weren’t surprised to find out that funders, especially large foundations, didn’t understand what being bi+ inclusive means or what bi+ specific work is. Then we learned that many of our grant applicants didn’t understand it either!
VIF leadership council members Camille Holthas and Sidney Townes will be convening two online discussions to engage with the bi+ community around the idea of “bi+ specific.” VIF will use these discussions to establish our description of “bi+ specific funding” and “bi+ specific work” as we develop educational materials for other funders and for our grant applicants.
Discussions will be held on Zoom:
Tuesday June 28
Sunday July 10
Please complete this google form to select a discussion to join. Zoom links will be sent to participants the day of the discussion.
VIF will be continuing to engage with the community on other questions relevant to our mission. If you are not able to join us for this discussion but would like to be contacted about future discussions, please complete this short form.
