Appalachian Sustainable Development, program is Farmer PRIDE
ASD’s mission is centered on the bright future of Central Appalachian through access to fresh, healthy, locally-produced food. ASD’s commitment to build a thriving regional food and agriculture system that creates healthy communities, respects the planet, and cultivates profitable opportunities for Appalachians is the foundation for Farmer PRIDE. Every farmer who is able to put food on their table and their neighbor’s table is a story of direct empowerment; ASD is committed to addressing the barriers that exist that keep all members of our community from accessing that same opportunity.
For all people in agriculture, having access to a robust network of experienced growers is vital to long-term success. For members of the LGBTQ+ community the lack of a safe, robust support structure for networking, education, and business is a recognized barrier for entry into the food system. Farmer PRIDE is designed to be a foundation to provide access to equitable opportunities for education and engagement while working to meet the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community in agriculture.

Bi Women Quarterly
Bi Women Quarterly is a quarterly grassroots publication with a global and multi-generational readership. Volunteer-run, we are entering our 42nd year of continuous publication. To our knowledge, BWQ is currently the only bi+ women-focused periodical in existence. We are a free global resource, offering BWQ at no cost to all interested through digital subscriptions, print subscriptions, and on our website.
We are applying for a $5000 grant that will allow us to invest in the development of a financial management system and a new web-based content submissions process for our growing organization and to offer a stipend to our (to be hired) new assistant editor for their work on BWQ. Our goal is to make this unique, critical, and impactful publication sustainable for decades to come.

Bi+Georgia
Bi+ Georgia is a community organization that provides education, social spaces, and connection to bi+ people in Georgia. Funds from this grant would be utilized primarily for to pay speakers, and ASL interpreters for educational events, digital subscriptions for online events and other programming, community outreach at pride events, website maintenance, and event space rental.
BiCONIC Film Festival (Still Bisexual is Fiscal Sponsor)
At BiCONIC, we aim to support and uplift Bi+ filmmakers by organizing a film festival focusing on the Bi+ community. Bi+ includes people identifying as bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, multisexual, fluid, omnisexual, or anyone attracted to more than one gender. Our festival showcases independent features, short films, and digital media from Bi+ filmmakers and content that aligns with the Bi-BQ, a local Bi+ Pride event that takes place a week before San Francisco Pride, and Bi+ Visibility Week, which includes September 23rd, Celebrate Bisexuality Day. These annual screenings aim to showcase community-driven films to a broader LGBTQ+ audience, promote creativity, encourage introspection, and explore bisexual+ identity through cinema. We are doing this the week of the 16th through the 23rd of September, 2023. The project of Still Bisexual would use any grant money to build the infrastructure the San Francisco film community needs to make BiCONIC a fixture of queer cinema in the Bay Area.
Los Angeles Bi+ Task Force
LABTF is a grassroots organization seeking funding for a bi+ wellness conference to provide bi+ individuals in Los Angeles and beyond with essential tools, resources, and information to improve their physical, emotional, sexual, and cultural health. Since the groundbreaking White House Bisexual Community Roundtable in 2013, we learned of the staggering health and mental health disparities facing the bi+ community, and in 2015, LABTF published the bi+ community needs assessment to assess the needs of the local community. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic sparked a global health and mental health crisis and now, LABTF hopes to host a conference in March 2024 during Bisexual Health Awareness Month in order to help address these health disparities. We hope attendees will gain valuable insights, practical tools, hope and healing, and a sense of belonging on a path towards improved health and well-being. With nearly 10 million individuals living in LA County, the limited availability of bi+ specific resources is deeply concerning. With this being the first conference hosted by LABTF, it will serve as a proof for the need for future bi+ health convenings and it is one way we can do our part in helping our community grow and thrive.
